A loan helped to buy raw materials and make a larger and more varied product-line.

Sana’a's story

Sana'a is a 28 year old single woman from Nao'or, Jordan.
Sana'a was raised in Nao'or with one brother with whom she still lives. Sana'a 's aunt taught her how to make baskets and home décor (like dried flower bouquets) from straw and organic materials.

One day, Sana'a heard a radio advertisement for Tamweelcom and started to imagine the possibility of developing her own project. She persuaded her aunt to take a small group loan just for purchasing the raw materials to make her artistic decorations. Their project progressed well in the past year; now, Sana'a is requesting a loan of 500 Jordanian Dinar (JOD) to enlarge her business. Although Sana'a still works from home, she would like to offer her customers more variety and a larger selection of home decorations to include wall hangings made of tapestry and dried flowers; three-tier baskets that hang from the ceiling, graduating in size, to hold fruits and vegetables in the kitchen, table centerpieces made of organic materials, etc.

Sana'a dreams of a better life for herself and her brother. Sana'a would like to expand her product-line, her clientele, her marketing capacity by eventually establishing a brand name and possibly a shop of her own.
