Julia is 48 years old and lives in Santa Rosa neighborhood, in the town of Puente Paucartambo (in the central Peruvian jungle). This is where she started her family together with Crispin; her husband of 29 years. The couple have 7 children and, through their efforts, they have managed to provide them with what they need. Now they are caring for their youngest son Rony.
With the calmness that she displays, Julia shaped her family. Her main financial driving force and inspiration is "farming". She has thirty years experience in growing avocados, bananas and citrus fruits. This experience helped her to acquire everything that she has now: a comfortable home, business premises in Puente Paucartambo (a commercial area), a home in the country's capital city and 40 hectares of farmland. She has all of this thanks to her continual work. "I do business on the farm", she comments very proudly. "Twice a week, I send large quantities of avocados to the capital", she adds.
Julia would now like to invest in growing coffee since its price on the market has increased. She has already taken her first step by setting up coffee nurseries, where she has thousands of seedlings growing which will later be transplanted onto her farmland. She also sells seedlings for 400 Peruvian soles per thousand to third parties which makes her extra money.
Julia is a member of the "Luz del Futuro" (Light of the Future) community bank and this is her seventh loan from MFP. She hopes that you will help fund her loan so that she can continue achieving her goals. On her part, she pledges once again to make her loan repayments on time as she has with her previous loans. Julia enjoys being a member of her community bank because all the members are responsible people who are very supportive of each other. With your support, Julia will invest the money she has requested in paying laborers to transplant her coffee seedlings onto her farmland.
