The solidarity group Sop Serigne Mansour was created on May 10, 2010. It is comprised of 22 women who have the same occupation working in small-scale commerce and in the fattening of livestock.
Ms. Ngoné, the group's leader, is 30 years old, married, and the mother of three children. She has been running a business fattening sheep for ten years. She purchases her sheep at the central market of the village and resells them there. She is the one standing at the right in the photo and dressed in a deep yellow Wax cloth.
Her loan will enable her to bolster her business by buying more sheep and fodder in order to earn more income. She would like to use her profits to meet her children's various needs and to manage the day-to-day.
