A loan helped to purchase more fashionable clothes for resale.

Annet's story

Annet is 33 years old and lives in the town of Njeru in the Mukono region of Uganda. She is married and has two children, with one of them currently in school.

For the past six years, Annet has been working hard to manage her boutique, where she sells all kinds of adult clothes, such as shirts, dresses, etc.

To help expand her business, Annet has requested a loan of 1,500,000 Ugandan shillings from BRAC Uganda. The loan will be used to purchase more fashionable clothes for resale. This will help Annet to generate greater profits and manage to provide some basic needs and food for her family.

Annet hopes that in the future, she will be able to become a powerful businesswoman and own a big shop in town. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program that primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
