Ida Mouride Group's story

This women's group has been in existence since July, 2012. It is made up of 2 women who live in the same locality. They maintain very strong kinship ties and mutually support one another. Their main activity is trade.
Mrs. Fatou, standing on the right of the photo with her hand raised, is the group representative. She is a 67-year-old widow and mother of 7 children, including 4 girls. She is active in trade and sells peanuts and vegetables at the market. With her business profits, she hopes to provide for her family's needs (food, care, children's schooling).
