A loan helped to purchase organic fertilizers to improve his crops.

Alexander's story

Alexander is a young farmer from Balboa, Cauca, with 14 years of experience. He owns a two-hectare farm where he grows more than 10,000 coffee plants at various stages of growth, allowing him to harvest over a ton of coffee monthly. Alexander fertilizes his crops with organic waste, utilizing farm residues and natural materials like manure, which improves soil fertility and contributes to environmental care by reducing the use of chemical fertilizers.

Alexander lives with his wife and son in a house his father gave him, located near his farm. His wife plays a key role in managing the household and handling the crops.

A loan of $1,923,050 COP will allow Alexander to buy organic fertilizers rich in phosphate, which will strengthen the nutrition of his crops and improve the quality of his harvest.
