Prabhaswri, a 49-year-old woman from the Kishanganj district in Bihar. She lives with her family, including her four children, one of whom attends a local school. Her husband is a dedicated farmer who cultivates various crops seasonally, working tirelessly to provide a better life for his family. Through immense effort and determination, he acquired a piece of land, which serves as their primary source of livelihood.
Prabhaswri actively supports her husband by managing household chores and assisting in the fields with tasks such as cleaning, pruning, and harvesting crops. Currently, the couple has decided to cultivate corn, a staple food in Bihar with high local demand. However, they lack the necessary funds to begin cultivation.
To overcome this challenge, Prabhaswri is seeking a loan of INR 130,000 from WeGrow, one of Milaap’s field partners. She has formed a group of four women from similar backgrounds, all facing financial constraints that hinder their progress. Together, they are requesting financial assistance to purchase corn seed, organic fertilizer, and other essential farming inputs that are otherwise too costly for them.
Your support will empower these women to enhance their earnings, secure their future, and improve their livelihoods. They are deeply grateful to their lenders for making this opportunity possible.
