A loan helped to buy an oven and ingredients to prepare her deserts and also wood and other materials for her business and her husband's.

Mayerling Chiquinquira's story

Mayerling Chiquinquira is 43 years old, married, and has 2 children, ages 14 and 8. Her husband is a carpenter. They live in Quito, a city that opened its doors to them as it did to many of their compatriots. Her husband traveled first and after a few months, when she already had a rented apartment, she migrated with her two children. Once they sold their apartment in Venezuela, due to political, insecurity, economic and other factors that led them to the decision to migrate to Ecuador. Here they were welcomed by their neighbors and helped to find work. In Venezuela she learned about baking and here she met her teacher, who supported her and linked her to courses to improve her knowledge and skills. Now she prepares desserts and cakes in various designs and flavors to suit her clients' tastes, who ask for them for their birthdays or special occasions. She offers her desserts on social media, and has managed to get many clients who refer her because she prepares delicious desserts, which is why they prefer her.

Her husband also has a carpentry workshop in the same house they rent, but in the future they want to rent a place for her husband's carpentry shop in a more commercial area.

This loan is to buy an oven and ingredients to prepare the desserts, as well as wood and other materials for her business and her husband's.
