María Elizabeth's story

María Elizabeth and her family live in Montecristi. The people there are very hardworking and are known for their artisan crafts made from paja toquilla, wicker, piquigua fiber, and wood. The high quality paja toquilla hats are known worldwide as Panama hats, and are recognized inside and outside of the country.

María Elizabeth is a nursery school teacher and when she works for the state under contract, she collects her salary monthly. Right now her contract has finished and in order to have income and to give her family the best, she sells various products like clothing, BOOM catalog cleaning products, (for clothing, floors, bathrooms, and kitchens) Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes, and women's accessories), shoes, chairs, tables, baskets, and other plastic items on special order. She travels through various areas of the city and the nearby countryside to make her sales. She sells to her customers on credit and collects weekly. Maria Elizabeth also makes home deliveries.

She is very grateful to the good people who are helping her with the loans. With them, she can give her family the best.

This loan is to buy chairs, tables, shoes, various cleaning products, makeup, perfumes, jewelry, etc.
