Cynthia is a student who is pursuing a degree in Environmental Engineering at La Universidad Privada del Norte. During the previous cycle, she benefited from an educational loan. The financial support from Kiva was essential for Cynthia to continue her studies and advance toward her professional degree. The loan made a positive impact on Cynthia’s life since the low payment installments alleviated the financial burden on her family. However, her family situation is complicated. Cynthia’s mother has health problems and is unable to work. Despite their efforts, her family’s income is not sufficient to cover her expenses for the next academic term. This puts Cynthia’s academic progress and her ability to continue her studies at risk. For this reason, Ana is requesting a new Kiva educational loan so that her friend Cynthia can continue her studies through the summer term.
With gratitude, Cynthia states, “I greatly appreciate the help from Kiva so that I can continue my studies. This support is vital for me and, without a doubt, it will make a huge difference in my life.”
