A loan helped to buy enough crates of soda, sugar.

Suzan's story

Suzan is 44 years old and lives in the town of Kabuusu in the Kabuusu region of Uganda. She is married and has 5 children, 2 of whom are currently in school. For the past 20 years, Suzan has been working hard to manage her beverage business, in which she sells soft drinks, juices, water and snacks.

To help expand her business, Suzan has requested a loan of 6,000,000 Ugandan Shillings from BRAC Uganda to buy crates of soda, sugar for the passion juice, energy drinks and water. This will help Suzan to increase production and generate greater revenue and profits. Thus, she will manage to buy food for her family.

Suzan hopes that in the future she will be able to build a house of her own. She is a member of BRAC's microfinance program which primarily serves small group members like her who do not have collateral for commercial loans but do have businesses that have grown and qualify for microloans.
