Odete, second from the right in the photo, is 65 years old, is divorced, and has three children. She lives in a house she owns in a community in the capital of São Paulo.
She works as a hair stylist, and she provides services to people in the neighborhood where she lives. Her greatest challenge working in this community is dealing with issues of insecurity in the neighborhood and the constant search for lower prices. This happens because her customers are low-income and they seek alternatives with more affordable prices and easy payment terms.
She started working in this business after her divorce, as she was in a very difficult financial situation. So she started doing courses and attending to customers in her home, and she gradually increased her customer base and managed to open a beauty salon.
With help from the loan, she will invest in buying disposable products, hair dyes, and moisturizers.
