A loan helped to purchase more ingredients that will be used to cook food to sell.

Kebbeh's story

This is 50-year-old Kebbeh. She lives with her partner and is a mother of 6 children. She never had the opportunity to attend school. Kebbeh is a businesswoman who sells cooked food. She learned how to sell from her aunty.

Kebbeh has been managing her sales for 28 years and has not encountered any problems with her business. She uses a car or kehkeh (a motorized tricycle) to transport supplies to her business site and sells them Monday through Saturday.

Kebbeh has asked for a loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. The loan will be used to purchase more ingredients that will be used to cook food to sell. Her dream for the future is to build a shop. She is very grateful to BRAC and Kiva for their support and would like to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
