This loan provides low-income and vulnerable women entrepreneurs in Madagascar with access to capital to grow and expand their small businesses. In addition, they receive health insurance, business and loan management training, and personalized at-home coaching from designated training officers.
CEFOR is a socially-oriented MFI that targets people who have not accessed credit in the past. The organization operates 11 branches in and around Antananarivo, the capital and largest city in Madagascar. CEFOR offers loans to low-income entrepreneurs. CEFOR's non-financial services include health insurance, trainings, and at-home coaching delivered by designated training officers. In addition to its microcredit program, CEFOR runs a vocational training program with the goal of helping young people enter the job market.

Loans that are smaller (that is, as a lower percentage of gross national income per capita) are generally made to more economically disadvantaged populations. However, these same loans are generally more costly for the Lending Partner to originate, disburse and collect.
