A loan helped to buy mulberry bark used for her tapa-making business.

Fetuli's story

This is Fetuli. She is 44 years old and a single mother of five children. They all live together in their own house. Her children currently attend school. Fetuli does her best in many ways in order to provide for her family so that her children do not feel fatherless in the future. Fetuli learned how to make tapa from her mother years ago and she takes advantage of that skill to start up her tapa business to provide for her family. Fetuli mainly makes the soft tapa by beating raw mulberry bark from the mulberry tree and making soft tapa out of it. Soft tapa is important in tapa-making because soft tapa is used to make a whole tapa cloth. She spends five days a week to make soft tapa, then on Saturday sells her stock of soft tapa to the local people at the flea market in town. She earns a good income from her tapa-making business and it helps her a lot to satisfy the needs and wants of her family, especially her children. Now she needs more mulberry for her business and this is why she applied for this loan. This will help her buy more mulberry bark for her tapa-making in the future.
