A loan helped to buy dry food for resale.

Nasira's story

Nasira is a refugee mother of 6 children who all are school going as well as grandchildren. They all stay with her in Yumbe, which is in the West Nile region of Uganda.

Today Nasira can give her family 2 meals a day, and she is not in the bad way she was when she first came to Uganda. When she came to Uganda, she had almost given up on life.

Rather than lamenting and wishing for things to get better, Nasira chose to work hard and be a better person. She is a farmer who grows cassava, millet and sorghum. In addition to farming, she also has a small stall and sells mainly dry food stuff. As a mother as well as a grandmother, she has to work extremely hard to make sure that her family is taken care of.

Nasira would like to add more dry food stuff in the stall so she will be able to sell more, pay school fees and offer her family a better life.

To be where Nasira is today, she is very grateful for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva has given her to make her life better.
