A loan helped to improve the infrastructure of a small, roadside family-owned restaurant/cafe.

Marinda's story

Meet Marinda. Marinda runs a small restaurant in the rural community of El Peñon, located in the mountainous region of West Panama.

Marinda has been providing for her family thanks to a small restaurant where she sells traditional Panamanian food at affordable prices for her community. The building needs some structural repairs and improvement.

Today, Marinda is applying for a small Kiva loan to improve the infrastructure of her restaurant, so she can continue serving her community and offer better service to her clientele. Currently she is serving 30 plates of food per day, but with the shop improvement she is planning to grow her sales and generate more prosperity for her family.

Thank you for supporting small business owners from communities that have been historically excluded from basic financial services.

This loan is special because:

It empowers the most vulnerable women in Central America by extending access to financial services.
