A loan helped to pay the freight fee for importation of her flea products from overseas.

Mele's story

Mele is 34 years of age. She is married and blessed with two kids. They all live in their own home. This family consists of four people.

Mele makes a living for her family from her flea market business. She started this flea market business over five years ago. The nature of her business is that she sends money to her sister overseas to import flea products of different types such as clothes, shoes, kitchenware, house furniture and many more. So when she sells her flea products to the local people, she takes out the cost from the income she receives and saves the profit. She also sends money to her sister to import more flea products and vice versa.

She runs her flea business at the flea market in town. She has her own stall which she uses to sell her flea products to the local people every day. She loves this business because it earns money for her to provide for her family.

This time she aims to import her flea products using a container but she has to have enough money to pay for the freight fee and this is why she applied for this loan to help her pay her freight fee. With this loan she will be able to continue running this business in the future.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
