A loan helped a member to buy farm inputs, i.e., fertilizer.

Malongoti 2 Club Group's story

Lyton is a youth farmer age 26 who is married with no child so far. He joined the agriculture sector, especially the coffee farming business, while he was young, and he enjoys taking part in agricultural activities within his community.

Being a youth farmer nowadays is interesting in Malawi since the government and other stakeholders are encouraging the youth to be involved in agriculture. In the picture, he is standing second from left with a hand raised up.

As a youth farmer, his business is challenged by a lack of enough fertilizer for the crops since coffee farming requires more fertilizer for the farmer to produce quality yields. The new loan from FIFAD will help him buy inputs, i.e., fertilizer.

He plans to build a house with the profits made from the sales.
