A loan helped to buy better-yielding seeds, fertilizers, and other essential agricultural inputs.

Abdulmumin's story

Abdulmumin is from rural Kaduna, northern Nigeria, where he supports his wife and children by farming. Maize farming is the primary occupation in his community, but like many others, his income is not sufficient to better his family's standard of living.

With Babban Gona, Abdulmumin will be able to access high-quality inputs and farming services to increase his yields. Training programs, such as those focusing on micro-dosing fertilizers, will help him farm more sustainably and increase his productivity. He anticipates harvesting forty bags per hectare this year, double the national average of twenty.

Abdulmumin is seeking a loan to buy better-yielding seeds, fertilizers, and other essential agricultural inputs to improve his farming operations and boost his yield, potentially earning up to twice the average Nigerian farmer's annual income. He plans to use the profits to build a better house for his family and ensure all of his children can attend school.

This loan is special because:

It supports smallholder farmers and helps them increase yields.
