Siale's story

This is Siale, she is 50 years of age. She is married and blessed with six kids. Only two kids still attend school, the rest have finished school. Her husband is away from home in the Seasonal Worker Program. Siale looks after the kids and takes both responsibility for her and her husband. She started this tapa making business on her own. Firstly she started selling out the soft tapa by beating up a raw mulberry out of it and then sells it out to the local people. One day a week she joins into a group of women in their village to make the whole tapa. After that they design the tapa they use the mangrove liquid and then sell it out to the local and overseas people. She earned a good money from this tapa making business. Together with her husband's income, she will make a development for her family. This time she requests for this loan to assist her in buying mulberry for her tapa making business.
