Ceeta's story

Meet 46-year-old Ceeta, from Liberia. She is married and has three children. Two of them are still attending school. Ceeta is a hardworking businesswoman who sells oil, soap, vita, pepper, bags of rice and other goods. Eighteen years ago, she started her business and has been running it ever since. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and works Monday through Saturday.

She has applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to purchase more oil, soap, vita, pepper, bags of rice and other goods to sell to her loyal customers. She values her business because it helps support her family. In the future, she hopes to improve her business.

Ceeta is very grateful to BRAC and the Kiva community for their ongoing support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
