Maria Zoila's story

Maria is 50 years old, she has been separated from her husband for many years. She lives in her own house in an area called San Felipe with her son, her daughter-in-law and her grandson. She sells candy and snacks outside schools.

This loan will allow her to buy more stock to sell in December since sales increase and she generates better income.

Today she works as a street vendor because she has the strength, but in the future she would like to have a candy store and in that way ensure her livelihood when she reaches old age.

Translated from Spanish by Kiva volunteer Francesca Ferreccio.

This loan is special because:

It aims to reach vulnerable refugee populations in an isolated region.
