Harold's story

Harold is an agricultural producer whose life has always been linked to the fields, having worked since very young in the planting and harvesting of various crops. This experience has given him a profound passion for working the earth, especially cultivating tuberculars, vegetables, and basic grains.
Married and the father of a small child, Harold works to give the best future to his family through his work in the fields. With the goal of improving production in his potato fields, Harold is asking for a Kiva loan for the maintenance of 1 manzana (hectare) of land, to be able to buy fertilizers that optimize the development of his crops.
With the necessary resources, Harold hopes to generate bigger income which will permit him to ensure the wellbeing of his family and continue improving their quality of life.

Harold es un productor agropecuario cuya vida ha estado siempre ligada al campo, habiendo trabajado desde joven en la siembra y cosecha de diversos cultivos. Esta experiencia le ha infundido una profunda pasión por el trabajo en la tierra, especialmente en el cultivo de tubérculos, hortalizas y granos básicos. Casado y padre de un hijo pequeño, Harold se esfuerza por ofrecerle un mejor futuro a su familia a través de su labor en el campo. Con el fin de mejorar la producción de su parcela de papa, solicita un financiamiento KIVA para el mantenimiento de 1 manzana de tierra, así como para la compra de fertilizantes que optimicen el desarrollo de su cultivo. Con los recursos necesarios, Harold espera generar mayores ingresos que le permitan asegurar el bienestar de su familia y continuar mejorando su calidad de vida.

These collateral-free loans to solidarity groups and women farmers will be used for agricultural production. Most of the loans are short-term and finance the purchase of agricultural inputs; however, in some cases, the loans may be longer-termed (up to 36 months) and used for the purchase of machinery and equipment. Aldea Global works with borrowers in the northern, coffee-growing region of Nicaragua, where incomes are heavily dependent on coffee. By supporting this loan, you are helping borrowers to diversify their families' sources of income, resulting in greater economic stability.
