Kalyskan Group's story

"Kalyskan” is a group from Chonkara village which is situated at the southern part of Kyrgyzstan. All members of the group are engaged in cattle breeding and land cultivation.

Kalyskan A. is the leader of the group. She is 55, married, and has eight children. She started her business with the initial capital of 5.000 KGS and managed to develop a farm with five milch cows and sheep. Also, her family is engaged in cultivating rice, which allows them to earn the sum of 4.000 KGS in a month.

Members of the “Kalyskan” group have applied for a loan of 54.000 KGS to purchase cattle and fertilizers to manure their land. This will allow them to get a good harvest of rice and raise their sales of milk and meat products. In future, they plan to broaden their businesses.
