A loan helped to buy more dried pepper, oil, vita, beans, salt, vegetable oil, candy, charcoal, sugar, water, tomato, and milk to sell.

Krubo's story

Meet 58-year-old Krubo from Liberia. She has four children, two of whom are still attending school. Krubo is a hardworking businesswoman who sells dried pepper, oil, vita, beans, salt, vegetable oil, candy, charcoal, sugar, water, tomato, and milk. She learned how to sell from her mother. Years ago, she started her business and has been operating it ever since. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site and works six days a week.

She requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to invest in her business. With the loan, she plans to buy more dried pepper, oil, vita, beans, salt, vegetable oil, candy, charcoal, sugar, water, tomato, and milk to sell and generate greater profits. She would like to deal in business internationally. Krubo is deeply grateful for the financial support provided by BRAC and the Kiva community.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
