A loan helped to purchase more tissues, soap, vita, rice, and other items to sell.

Annie's story

This is 38-year-old Annie from Liberia. She is single and is the mother of four children. Annie attended school up to 12th grade. She is a strong businesswoman who sells tissue, soap, vita, rice, and other items. She started her business with some financial help from her partner.

Annie has not faced any problems with her business. She operates Monday through Saturday for eight hours each day. She is now seeking a loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. The loan will help her purchase more tissues, soap, vita, rice, and other items to sell and generate greater profits. Her dream for the future is to build a store. She is very grateful to BRAC and Kiva for their support and would like to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
