A loan helped to purchase more soap, oil, charcoal, rice, toothpaste and other goods to sell.

Etta's story

Etta is 47 years old and hails from Liberia. She has three children, who are currently attending school and live at home.

Etta runs a provision shop selling soap, oil, charcoal, rice, toothpaste and other goods. She has been successfully operating her business for fifteen years and has no issues with her sales. She works Monday through Saturday, using a car to transport supplies to her business site.

To grow her business, Etta applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia and Kiva Lending Partner to purchase more soap, oil, charcoal, rice, toothpaste and other goods for her loyal customers. She values her business because it helps support her children’s education.

Etta Sophia expresses her deep thanks and appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their invaluable support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
