A loan helped to purchase more slippers, clothes, cream, underwear, t- shirts and used clothes to sell.

Tamay's story

This is 33-year-old Tamay from Liberia. She lives with her partner and is the mother of 3 children. Tamay attended school up to 12th grade. She is a strong businesswoman who sells slippers, clothes, cream, underwear, t- shirts and used clothes. She started her business with some financial help from her partner.

Tamay has not faced any problems with her business. She operates Monday through Saturday for 8 hours each day. She is now seeking a loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner. The loan will help her purchase more slippers, clothes, cream, underwear, t- shirts and used clothes to sell and generate greater profits.

Her dream for the future is to build a shop. She is very grateful to BRAC and Kiva for their support and would like to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
