A loan helped to buy more rice, Vita cubes, beans, fufu and plantains to sell.

Josephine's story

Josephine is 49 years old and has five children. She is married. She never had the opportunity to attend school, and all her children are currently attending school while living at home.

She owns a business selling rice, Vita cubes, beans, fufu and plantains. Josephine has been a strong businesswoman for the past 15 years. She started the business with her savings and runs her operations from Monday through Saturday.

She has applied for a loan with BRAC Liberia. The loan will be used to buy more rice, Vita cubes, beans, fufu and plantains to sell to good clients. Her dream for the future is to build a shop. Josephine is grateful for the financial support from the funders that will boost her business.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
