A loan helped to purchase more soap, slippers, and clothes to sell.

Fatu's story

Meet 44-year-old Fatu. She is married. She has four children.

Fatu is a strong businesswoman who sells soap, slippers, and clothes. She started to sell with some financial help from her mother. She has been managing her sales for six years now and uses cars to transport supplies to her business site. She sells throughout the week and spends eight hours at her business site.

Fatu requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to purchase more soap, slippers, and clothes to sell. She likes her business because it gives her profits.

She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
