John's story

John is a 67-year-old hardworking paddy farmer. He engaged fully in farming after retirement. He is the member farmer in the irrigation scheme. He has one child who is now fully independent with their own family. John has been dedicated to farming since a very early age.

John's daily routine includes paddy farming on his 10-acre farm. With the experience of almost 40 years in farming, he keeps on raising his spirit and growing experience. All these years he has been able to use his personal income and savings for farming. However, since last year he faced price increases on farm inputs and could not afford to use his own cash to meet all the costs.

This is the reason that for the second time he requests a Kiva loan from Victoria Finance to help buy additional seeds and fertilizer and to pay the laborers so that he can increase his farming productivity.

John is looking forward to the benefit from this loan and having the assurance of income that will support him in meeting daily family needs. He has a good repayment history and commendable character.
