Mele's story

Greeting, meet this woman named Mele. She is married to a farmer and a mother of six kids. She has one and only one grandkid. They all live together in the same roof.

Once every week, Mele and her daughter join a group of women in their village, and together they perform the making of tapas. They make different types and sizes of tapas, design them and then sell out.

Her business income is one of the primary sources of income for her family. With this loan, she is able to empower her business, by buying mulberry to make more tapas. Some of her tapas are exported overseas, and some are sold to local random customers.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
