A loan helped to buy soil amendments, fertilizers, and fungicides, as well as to pay for labor to maintain the crop.

Maritza Guisela's story

Maritza is 30 years old. She lives with her family in the parish of Cahuasqui, in the canton of Urcuqui, in the province of Imbabura in northern of Ecuador.

She works in agriculture, growing pole beans. At the same time, she has worked for two years as a day laborer in the neighboring fields. These occupations allow her to generate income to contribute economically to her household.

She is requesting a loan to buy soil amendments, fertilizers, and fungicides, as well as to pay for labor to maintain the crop since in the dry season it requires greater care to obtain a quality product to be sold at a good price in the market.

Maritza is very grateful to Kiva for the help that has been provided. Her crop is growing and in this way she can achieve her desire which is to give her children better living conditions.
