A loan helped to buy more pigs.

Rebecca's story

Rebecca is a refugee mother to six children. She lives in Moyo along with her children, who all are school-going. Life itself has not been a bed of roses.

She opted to work hard rather than sit and fold her hands and lament about the bad situation that she faced. She is a farmer who grows millet, cassava, rice and beans.

All the same, she has become better, and she is a much better person as she now understands her business much better than before.

Her business is doing much better now and she understands it much better as compared to what it was before, and she now knows what she has to stock.

Besides farming, she also rears poultry, as well as pigs. Through these activities, she provides her family with a few basic needs, though she is not able to provide them all.

She would like to buy more pigs, as this will enable her to pay school fees and offer her family a better life. She has plans of starting up a butchery as well as a pork joint.

She is very hopeful that, with the reliable support of VisionFund and Kiva, she will be able to achieve more.
