A loan helped to buy dry food to sell.

Florence's story

Meet Florence, a refugee mother to five children who all stay with her in Yumbe and are going to school. At one point in her life, she had almost given up. She is a farmer who grows beans, cassava and sorghum. Today her life is better, and she can afford to give her family two meals a day.

Besides farming, she also has a small stall that sells mainly foodstuffs. The demand for food is very high within her community. Her stock is not much, so she is not able to sell as much as she would like. She plans to add more stock to the business to increase her sales, so that she will be able to sell more and pay school fees. Her dream is to build a better stall to display her goods and also move to the market.

She is very glad for all the support that VisionFund and Kiva have given her.
