A loan helped to purchase an irrigation system that will optimize the care of her coffee plantation.

Francy's story

Francy is a skilled merchant from Jambaló, Cauca, with 12 years of experience in agriculture. She owns a one-hectare farm where she has planted over 4,000 coffee plants alongside 230 banana trees that provide protection and shade for her coffee crop. Francy waters her coffee plantation using a hose she purchased several years ago. Although this process is meticulous, it is tedious due to the constant movement across her land with this equipment, limiting her time for other tasks.

Francy is a single mother and lives with her two children in a house she built on her land. In the photo, her younger daughter can be seen enjoying walking through the crops with her in the afternoons and learning about various field tasks.

A loan of $2,003,167 COP allows Francy to purchase an irrigation system. With the installation of this system, Francy will be able to optimize water use, ensuring that each plant receives the necessary hydration at the right time.
