A loan helped to replenish her inventory of goods to sell at her canteen.

Vaciseva's story

Vaciseva finds it difficult to support her family of four. She has requested a loan to replenish the inventory of the grocery canteen she operates from her home. These stores (known as ‘canteens’ in Fiji) sell kitchen staples and groceries to meet daily household needs.

Vaciseva expects to earn $40 a day, which she will use to provide security for her family and invest in her children’s education.

This loan is special because:

It provides women with credit in a country where alternative financing is extremely scarce.
