A loan helped buy more stock of soft drinks and water for her store.

Leilatu Sumani's story

Leilatu Sumani is a 29-year-old entrepreneur who lives with her husband and one child in the West Mamprusi district in Ghana. With her previous Kiva loan, she expanded her business in the sale of soft drinks and water. She used the profit she earned to support her daily needs.

Leilatu Sumani is requesting another loan to buy more stock of soft drinks and water for her store. She plans to use the profit she earns to reinvest in her business.

She will repay the ‘social interest’ on her second loan by volunteering 2.5 hours per week as a CAMFED Transition Guide. She will support other young women who are just entering the CAMFED Association by delivering an orientation course with weekly sessions on topics including health, financial literacy, and career guidance.

This loan is special because:

It provides 0% interest loans to entrepreneurs that give back to their community by mentoring.
