A loan helped to buy medium-sized pigs, feed and crop protection products.

Henri's story

Henri is a 36-year-old man. He is married with two children. He lives in a village on the outskirts of town in their own house. He is a fisherman. He has also been raising pigs for seven years. His wife helps him.

He joined Vahatra to take out a loan, which has proved beneficial. He has been able to rent arable land with his earnings. He is now planning to expand his pig farm to earn even more profit than before. To do this, he will need the support of the lenders to help him buy medium-sized pigs, feed and crop protection products. He will fatten his pigs and then sell them to the town butcher. He will buy more later.

He will save his profits to pay for his children's schooling.
