Mr. Salomón is 53 years old, married, and has seven children. He is originally from a community called Ocotolillo, in Estelí department. He has been a farmer since he was 20 years old. Due to his humble means, he only reached the fourth grade of primary school. He would have had to walk two hours to reach the high school.
He learned farming from his father, who worked as a coffee farmer and day laborer. When he was just six years old, Salomón helped drive oxen for planting basic grains. He married when he was 23 years old. He became independent when his father left him ten meters of land that he began to work, and since then, he has expanded his land by another five meters.
Salomón is requesting this loan to perform maintenance on his coffee farm and to increase the area that he will plant. He hopes that this will increase the amount of coffee he produces, thereby improving his sales and boosting his working capital. His plans include having a farm that produces 80% coffee beans, and improving the infrastructure of his house.
His goal is to prepare all of his children so that they can attend university and become good people who are useful to society.
