Joseph's story

Joseph E. is from the village of Poblacion, Don Carlos, Bukidnon. He is 43 years old. Joseph is married and has one school-aged child. To make a living, Joseph owns & operates a service-based business. While not the only means for generating revenue, the main source of income for the business comes from providing utility van or multi-purpose vehicle services to local community members. Joseph has been engaged in his business for over five years and earns approximately 16,000 PHP a month for these activities.

In 2010, Joseph joined HSPFI to gain access to financial services to help improve his living situation and ability to engage in business activities. Joseph has successfully repaid a previous loan of 11,000 PHP from HSPFI. This previous loan was used to to purchase tools needed to provide service. Joseph is requesting a new loan of 15,000 PHP which will be used to purchase tools & equipment needed to expand services provided. This will be the 4th loan taken out by Joseph from HSPFI. He plans to use the additional revenue generated from the business to improve/expand his business.
