A loan helped to buy drinking water and fish, and to maintain the tanker truck.

Jessenia Janeth's story

Jessenia Janeth and her family live in Montecristi, a place known for its handicrafts made from straw, wicker, wood, and piquigua [a natural fiber native to the Andes]. The area is known for its fine hats called Panama hats, which are made from toquilla straw, and are famous throughout the country and abroad.

Jessenia Janeth is a teacher at a school where she is paid a monthly salary. In order to make additional income, she buys fish scraps and takes them to sell at fish meal factories. She also has a water tanker that is driven by a driver she pays weekly.

She sells drinking water both in the city and beyond, to factories and residences. This loan is to buy drinking water and fish, and to maintain the tanker truck.
