A loan helped to purchase more slippers to increase her business.

Zainab's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 33-year-old Zainab from Port Loko Branch. She is a married businesswoman with three children between the ages of 4 and 13 years old. Three are currently attending school. She started this business to take care of her family.

Zainab runs a retail business and sells slippers to her customers around the communities. She has been in this business for the past 10 years. Zainab says that her challenge is the increase in cost of goods and commodities in the country.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more slippers to increase her business. Zainab says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family and increase her business.

In the future she would like to expand to a larger scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.
