A loan helped to buy more bails of used clothes to sell.

Grace's story

This is 28-year-old Grace. She is a single mother with 3 children; they are presently in school and live at home. Grace attended school up to sixth grade.

She is a hardworking businesswoman who sells used clothes. For seven years she has been operating her sales. She learned now to sell from her mother. She works Monday through Saturday and uses a car to transport goods to her business site. She likes her business because she it provides her basic needs. She wants to build a house and continue her children's education in the future.

To continue her sales, Grace applied for a loan through BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to buy more bails of used clothes to sell in order to further build her business. She wants to build a house and send her children to school. Grace wishes to say thanks.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
