Victoria's story

Greetings from Sierra Leone! This is 33-year-old Victoria from Looking Town branch. She is a married businesswoman with three children between the ages of 5 years and 15 years old. All are currently attending school. She started this business to take care of her family.

Victoria runs a retail business and sells cooking items to her customers around the community. She has been in this business for the past 10 years. Victoria says that her challenge is the increase in prices of goods in the market.

She requested this loan through BRAC Sierra Leone to purchase more cooking items, such as onions, palm oil, pepper, etc., to increase her business.

Victoria says that the extra income from this loan will help to take care of her family. In the future, she would like to expand to a large scale. She says thanks to BRAC and Kiva for their support.

This loan is special because:

It provides access to funding in areas where there are limited alternative sources of finance.
