A loan helped to continue and complete his son's tuition costs.

Martin Leoncio's story

Martin, seen on the left, works for an industrial company in Peru and is the only one responsible for covering the tuition fees for his son Leonardo, seen on the right. Leonardo studies industrial engineering at the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú. He lives with his parents; his mom is a homemaker. Leonardo is the only child to receive higher education in his family.

Since Leonardo was little, he has accompanied his father to his job where he discovered his passion for industrial engineering. He observed how this career covers key areas like production, logistics, quality, human resources, and finances which motivated him to choose it. Leonardo is an excellent student who invests many hours in his studies which are reflected in his excellent grades.

His goal is to graduate next year, however increasing tuition costs have put the family in a critical situation. Martin, despite his efforts, is not able to assume all Leonardo's tuition fees, which can impede his son's professional development. Because of this situation, Martin is seeking a Kiva education loan so that Leonardo can continue his studies. Leonardo is grateful for the opportunity that Kiva offers him, and he says "Many thanks for your support. It grants me security and hope knowing that there are people inclined to support young people who continue their education."
