Doris is 28 years old. She lives with her husband Raúl, who is 30 years old and a driver, and her three young children. Together they work hard every day in order to get ahead in life.
For two years, this enterprising woman has been selling lunches at the bus stop on the transport route that her husband works on. She says that her business is doing well since she doesn't have any competition and she sells 15 to 20 lunches a day which makes her regular income. Since she is very hard working, she has also started offering breakfasts to the same customers. In the future, she plans to improve the small patio area outside her home since she would like to start offering grilled dishes there on an evening.
In the afternoons, Doris also embroiders clothes that an middleman delivers to her. They pay her a commission according to the volume of clothes she manages to embroider each week.
This is Doris' first loan from MFP and she pledges to make her repayments on time since she doesn't want to let down the people who made this money possible as it will help her to continue working in search of progress. Doris plans to invest her loan money in buying supplies and also chairs and a table to equip the space that she has outside her home so that she can start her business selling grilled dishes. In this way, she hopes to continue making progress.
