Alice's story

Meet 43-year-old Alice from Liberia. She is living together with her partner along with 3 children; all her children are presently living at home while attending school.

Alice is a strong businesswoman who sells peppers, rice, onions, vita cubes, tomatoes and other items. For the past 10 years now she has been operating her sales and sells Monday through Saturday. She uses the car to transport supplies at her business site and has no problem with her business.

Alice requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to purchase more peppers, rice, onions, vita cubes, tomatoes and other items to sell. She likes her business because it gives her profits.

Her dream for the future is to become a big businesswoman. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
