A loan helped to purchase more slippers, bags and clothes to sell.

Angeline's story

Meet 49-year-old Angeline, from Liberia. She is living together with her partner and one child.

Angeline is a strong businesswoman who sells slippers, bags, and clothes. Five years ago she started to sell to create a permanent source of income to support her children. She uses a car to transport supplies to her business site. She sells Monday through Saturday, 8 hours each day. She likes her business because it gives her profits.

Angeline requested this loan from BRAC Liberia, a Kiva lending partner, to purchase more slippers, bags and clothes to sell to generate greater income.

In the future, she wants to improve and continue sending her children to school. She says thanks and gives appreciation to BRAC and the Kiva community for their support.

This loan is special because:

It serves low-income individuals in rural Liberia where few alternative funding sources exist.
